2019 Second Quarter Commentary

As we enter the holiday weekend, it certainly feels like everyone is “dancing in the streets”- timed and tuned for the incoming warm weather. However, the market’s second quarter mood some time was one that resembled the June gloom that lingered outside of our windows here in La for the first 2 months of the quarter. While its officially summer time, there was a great deal of that transpired across the markets, a tone that matched the grim weather outside for much of quarter (ok, not all that grim...after all we are in SoCal, but everything is relative). At a high level, three risks guided the direction of markets for the first half of 2019: global growth concerns, continued tensions, and global monetary policy.
